I took a nice early day from work today as the weather the past 2 days has been great. Alas, as i got home it was pissing rain here in victor. Did i hide on the couch, hell no jumped on my mt. bike and pulled off a few hours in the mud. It was actually quite enjoyable to be out there in the rain, and mud, splashing thru puddles.

Same old story new rider...seems like nothing ever changes in the cycling world. Oh well at least WADA has a new sport to chase down as I saw that Dick Pound claims all the hockey players are juiced, at least that was the headline in todays newspaper.

So far eBaying some items has worked pretty well for me, making a few quick bucks. I'm waiting a bit to get some of my big ticket items up online.

The cold weather has finally hit here, I think yesterday it was 2 degrees with the windchill, I planned on riding down to keuka lake where erin's parents were graciously hosting a nice thanksgiving dinner, but I wussed out cause it was so damn cold. It tucked into bed and slept for a while. Hopefully tomorrow I'll bust out the winter gear and freeze my ass of as the nicer day (sunday) I have to work, but still hope to get a ride in.

I've procrastinated enough...time to go rent a movie and spend the night on the trainer.

busy, busy, busy

Man, what has happened. Seems like I have absolutely zero time to chill anymore. Always seems like I'm striving toward meeting some new challenge. I might need to schedule a little x-time into my calendar just to make sure I relax a little bit.

It's official! I met with Matt, the Fisher rep, going to be on a 29er next season, all decked out with Bontrager carbon goodies! I may even hit a few races sporting the big B jersey.

Sunday morning was a good hard ride with Mark and Suzanne out at Dryer Road Park in Victor. If you're around check the place out its really coming along.

Right after that was a good ol fashion day of fun, doing some wine touring in the finger lakes with the crew. I'll post up some pics tomorrow evening so check those out.

Skimming through my food diary the past 2 weeks, i've been pretty good about hitting my food goals, but whats with all the friggin cookies? I might be in competition with the cookie monster over the number consumed on a daily basis. It's a bit like my personal kryptonite :)

Nov 13th and still 60 degrees!

Whoops, I've been slacking a little bit here. Especially been slacking on the podcast. What can I say, I've been busy.

My new toy is virtual pc , allows me to use winblows xp on my mac and upload my power-tap files of the road bike and hac4 files of the mountain bike, see the altitude for todays ride on the dirt (yah its in the metric system if you can't figure it out by now...). Agh, i feel so dirty!

Picture 1

I did some night riding on Friday night, with Mark, Suzanne their pup cadence, and my pup lizzy. We headed over to Dryer Road in Victor. The riding was perfect, almost full moon sky meant you could pretty much see everything without your lights. Chasing after the dogs (especially lizzy) when they chased after deer wasn't fun, but we put red flashers on em so we could spot em from a mile away. Some craziness ensued at one point, cadence took off after a deer, then lizzy did. We could hear her up in the meadow barking at them, so we waited for her. Turned off the lights and sat as she usually comes back, however we heard this thundering roar of movement and could sense something charging right at us! We were in the dark so it was a quick grab the lights, just to my left a deer bounces by and a huge buck lands right in front of Suzanne, quick change of direction and it bounds off right off her back wheel! Lizzy comes flying down to us all happy she had herded them to us, meanwhile we were frozen in fear. After that we decided to leave, only to be greeted by someone shining a flashlight and "Down Here Please" Seem the local 5-0 didn't like where we were parked at. Ooops, at least we were on our way out..

Did I just see a commercial for the tv show "House" in which the patient is a mountain biker who is blood doping?

Weekend rides

I was able to get in some decent riding this weekend. The weather has been incredible for early November. I got the cake back from GBC after Mark layed his steely eyed touch to her and got her running smooth again. So what was I to do but take er out for a night ride over to Dryer Rd park. It was nice to head there on a nice clear night and hit the trails all alone (except for a few rattled deer).

Something incredibly serene and a bit spooky about trouncing around in the woods by yourself.

What the hell, I just got checked my feeds. What is up with
??

Saturday, I hopped in for a ride with the GBC boys (and gal)...Mark and Suzanne, John and Trumble, but Chris wussed out!! We went to Shindagin Hollow down in Ithaca and it was an awesome day, nearly 70 degrees, the trails were a little muddier than we thought they would be, but thats autumn.

The Pictures of Shingagin can be found here

There ya go, got my work cut out for me if I want to hit it up big time in the upcoming season.

I hit the road tonight, yup in the dark, headlights and flasher were blazing. It is amazing how peaceful and serene it is at night in the countryside. Thankfully it was a nice night out except for the crazy headwind. The cool part is spotlighting all the deer and other wildlife. My only complaint is that I wish drivers would turn their friggin highbeams off when I'm coming. I'm gonna go blind.

Anyways, I need to
and if you need to lose some too check out a cool piece of software called
. Should help you keep your weight in check over those long winter months.

Back in the saddle again...

Cue the Aerosmith tune...

Well it's that time of year again. Off season is non-existent for those who want be slammin it come next time the rubber hits the dirt.

I was on the trainer last night for the 1st ride, actually wasn't all that bad. Just hope it stays that way all the time. The hilarious part was the fact that my dog stood next to me, seeing my legs spin and wondering why the hell I wasn't going anywhere. She usually gets all excited when I gear up thinking she is going to go with me and, well she did this time for sure. She must've stood there almost the entire ride waiting for the bike to jet forward. It was quite a site to see.

I sold a few items via ebay last night and I'm working on a few more. I'll post some links to the items as soon as I can, but my seller name is hilimirej if you are bored and want to search me out.

In some odd news, EPO maker to sponsor bike race? What's next Budweiser to sponsor AA meetings? Balco to start a baseball farm team? Anyone else find this odd. But hey they are putting money into bike racing and I like that. We vote with our dollars, and I hope you purchase items from bike sponsors and prove to them their marketing plans are worthwhile.
